We finally finished the nursery and are so super excited about Mia moving in!Painting the room was a complete nightmare. We primed and then painted the walls beige. The railing is a chocolate brown. In order to incorporate the green for Scott, we decided to go with a stripe above and below the brown railing to mirror the stripes on the bedding. However, after we pulled off the painter's tape, we found that the green had bled everywhere. Therefore, we were lucky enough to take an extremely fine paintbrush and touch up the entire green stripe, both top and bottom, by hand.
Scott and I
ended up purchasing most of the furniture at Lonestar Baby and Kids, after the set we had originally decided on at Babies R Us was discontinued before we were ready to purchase it. However, we absolutely fell in love with this set by Munire, so it all worked out for the best.We found the glider and ottoman at Stacy furniture, after several were tested by Scott to make sure he would be able to lean his head back and sleep comfortably in it during those late nights.
After looking at set after set of bedding, Scott finally found one that he liked and we could agree on. I wasn't too thrilled about the square pattern that came with t
he set, so we went to Bedazzled and were able to customize every last detail, including the window treatment and name letters. Many thanks to Karrissa for helping me out with the paint colors, finer details, and putting up with me. Now all we need is for Mia to make her entrance and we're ready to go. Only ten more weeks!
